Online poker players from all over the world have been left with a difficult decision on their hands following a recent move by major credit card provider MasterCard to block online gambling transactions made by holders on their cards.
The move has lead to a huge amount of discussion within the online poker community that has began to snowball, credit card holders claiming that the company hasn't informed them of this alteration to their policy and now they will look to seek credit from other providers in order to still be able to deposit with their chosen method.
The major credit card company hasn't issued a firm statement as to why they have finally decided that they were going to bring the block into operation nor about the rumors that are already being speculated regarding the loyalty of their holders been put to the test.
Players who used their MasterCard to fund their online accounts are now having to look to create eWallet accounts, online payment systems that allow payments to be processed without any personal information being passed on to the company or person that is receiving the funds.
Players at Pokerstars and Full Tilt Poker will definitely be feeling the blow, with the sites not accepting what is seen to be the biggest online eWallet account provider Paypal as a form of deposit or withdrawal.
Its not just the players who are showing their anger over this issue, many online poker rooms are also issuing their thoughts about the new procedure, saying that they have experienced a large slump of deposits being made into their site due to the issues that the alteration has changed.
Could this mean that the larger online poker rooms are going to open up their depositing options to Paypal or will it just mean that players are going to have to seek alternative means to place their own funds into their account?
